Day 66: August 17, 2012- The Big World

Apprehension in a Big World.

Wait, where are we going?

Oh, okay.

Hey, it's a big world out there.

The Readings:

Numbers 8:1-9:23, Mark 13:14-37, Psalm 50:1-23, Proverbs 10:29-30
Old Testament.
The Levites were separated to the Lord with a purity that we have as the "royal priesthood" now.

New Testament.
Like in Matthew, Jesus talks about the tribulation we will go through. Out of grace, "for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, it will be cut short." (v.20)

Then the Son of Man will come and the angels will gather the elect from the corners of the earth.

But he warns us to be ready again and again.

The crazy thing is Jesus doesn't even know the day it will come. Only the Father. Kinda gives me goose bumps!

Psalms.
God isn't looking for sacrifices, what you can give up for him. He's also not looking for a meal, what you can give to him.

He's looking for an offering of thanksgiving, the gladness of your heart in knowing and serving him!

Proverbs.
You'll never be shaken if you sit in the Lord's stronghold.
